The Collection type field records the category of an object.

Categories are often curatorial groups or collection departments (Human History, Archives, Built Heritage).

Search tips

You can search on this field with its ID or alias:

department

colltype

For example, enter colltype: "human history" into the search field to find all objects in the human history department/collection type.
