The Condition notes field records details about an object's condition on a certain date.

Cataloguing tips

Record the object’s condition in more detail. Note any weakness, damage or deterioration (see the list below).

Record if the object requires particular care such as:

  • Handling

  • Pest control

  • Packing

  • Conservation treatment

  • Regular monitoring

Use the term you pick from the list to start the report, recording what you see and its location. Use as many terms as required, ideally with bullet points for each one.

If an object requires treatment (borer treatment, mould treatment) record this in the conservation treatment field.
